In order to change the title deeds of your property into your name only we need
to go to a Notary and the other party will sell her 50% of the property to you.
This operation is called “confiscation of joint ownership” and the taxes to pay
would only be 1% instead of the normal transfer tax which is 7%.
You need to bear in mind that if there is a mortgage on the property we need the
acceptance from the bank in order to remove one person from the mortgage and its
duties.
